“Do A Good Turn Daily”
Scouting for Food is a tremendous way for Scouts and Scouters to show love and support for those in their community. With the challenges Americans face today, having enough food to feed themselves and their children should be the least of their concerns but for 11% of families in South Carolina, that is their number one concern. Scouting can help!
With the resources in the Scouting for Food Unit Guide below and your unit’s energy, enthusiasm, and generosity, we can make a HUGE difference in our communities! On February 6, 2021, Scouts and Scouters will distribute door hangers, which include instructions for residents to follow to donate food and other items to those in need, to homes across the Upstate. These door hangers are being provided to the Blue Ridge Council at no cost by Souper Bowl of Caring, a a youth-inspired movement working across the nation to tackle hunger in their local communities. One week later on February 13, 2021, those Scouts and Scouters will return to pick up the donated items and distribute them to food banks and other beneficiaries.
Thank you to all the Scouts and Scouters who participate in Scouting for Food and give service to their community!
